SOLID BAMBOO IN CONSTRUCTION
THE SUSTAINABLE REVOLUTION
In China, bamboo has been used in the construction of scaffolding for centuries. The use of bamboo in construction is becoming more common in the Netherlands. Solid Bamboo would like to tell you more about bamboo’s countless applications.
COUNTLESS APPLICATIONS OF SOLID BAMBOO
90% of the bamboo that is now used indoors is laminated bamboo. Think of parquet, stairs, window frames and panelling, but also many interior-building applications such as counters and tables. This bamboo isn’t suited for outdoor use; however, you can use solid bamboo for that. Solid bamboo is already used as cladding, stairs, bridge decks and window frames.
The material is very suitable to build with. Solid Bamboo has recently used its bamboo as construction material for an extra floor on a house in Amsterdam. Solid Bamboo is the strongest of all types and all suppliers.
The advantages of using solid bamboo in construction are many:
- solid bamboo has unusually high dimensional stability
- it’s easy to maintain
- the colour and surface stay looking good as new, thanks to the special moisture-regulating coating R-8XV
Solid bamboo is resistant to cracks and therefore has a long lifespan. If desired, Solid Bamboo can put you in contact with experienced interior builders and gardeners so you can achieve your desired results.
Thanks to the highest possible durability class, solid bamboo has an extremely long service life.
